Congratulations to the Corofin U-13 hurlers, winners of the 2014 Mickey Beakey Tournament, following a close 2 point victory over Clarecastle, in a game played in Páirc Finne on Sunday November 2nd.

Despite holding a strong lead at the break, 1-6 to 0-1, Corofin had to withstand a strong second half comeback from the Magpies to emerge victorious on a scoreline of 2-9 to 3-4.

Following the game, Rita Beakey, on behalf of the Beakey family, presented the Mickey Beakey Memorial Shield to Corofin joint-captains Gearóid Hanrahan and Niall Hegarty, while also presenting medals to both sets of players.

A special thanks to the parents for providing refreshments for the post-match presentation. Thanks also to local referee Ambrose Heagney for officiating the game and to Shannon Trophies (Gerry Kelly) for supplying the medals.
