Intermediate Hurling Championship     Feakle 3-19 Corofin 2-11

June 28th, 2014

Corofin were heavily beaten by Feakle in the opening round of the 2014 Intermediate Hurling Championship played in Tulla on Saturday June 28th.

Corofin made the better start with Stephen Heagney's frees putting Corofin into the lead, but Feakle took over in the second quarter and 2 goals saw them build up a commanding lead by the break, leading by 2-10 to 0-8.

Feakle continued to dominate during the second half with Corofin finding scores very hard to come by. A third goal for Feake put the game beyond any doubt. Corofin did respond with 2 goals from Damien Ryan and an injury time long range free from Gearóid Kelly, but it was all too little too late for Corofin, as Feakle finished up 11 point winners on a final scoreline of 3-19 to 2-11.
