This weekend sees both the Clare Minor and Senior Footballers in Championship action, with Corofin having representation in both teams.

First up are the Clare Seniors who take on Laois in Round 2A of the Qualifiers in O'Moore Park, Portlaoise on Saturday at 3pm. Corofin's Jamie Malone is named to start at wing-forward.

Then on Sunday, it's the turn of the Clare Minors, who will contest a first Munster Final since 1994 when they take on Kerry in Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney at 12 noon. The team is managed by Seamus Clancy with Peadar O'Brien also part of the backroom team, while dual County Minor Gearóid Cahill is expected to feature among the forwards.

Meanwhile, the victorious Clare Senior Football team of 1992 will be presented to the crowd at half-time of the Senior Game, 25 years on from their historic victory over Kerry in the Munster Final. Corofin were well represented on this historic team, with brothers Seamus & Colm Clancy key members of the team, while their father Donal acted as selector. Seamus gave a man of the match performance in the 1992 Munster Final and later in the year he was honoured as Clare's first ever football All-Star. Colm scored Clare's first goal against Kerry which set Clare on their way to a famous victory.

Best of luck to both Clare teams this weekend. An Clár abú!!
